Julie currently teaches harp and piano to students of all ages at her St. Clair West area studio in Toronto. An avid teacher of young children‚ Julie has made extensive study of the pedagogical approaches of Orff‚ Kodaly‚ and Dalcroze. Julie holds an Advanced Certificate in Early Childhood Music Education from the Royal Conservatory of Music/Ryerson University‚ Toronto, as well as a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from the University of Toronto.
She brings this expertise to all of her teaching‚ whether in small group classes‚ private piano and harp lessons‚ or larger class settings. Private lessons may include coaching to prepare for RCM examinations‚ auditions and competitions.
Julie has been teaching students at all levels for over twenty years, specializing in the classical repertoire, as well as Celtic‚ Folk and other styles of music.
Julie has adjudicated at harp competitions and events including the Kiwanis Music Festival‚ the Ontario Music Festival‚ and the Scholarship Competition for the Toronto Harp Society. She has also officiated for the orchestral harp class at the Glenn Gould School at the Royal Conservatory of Music.
